Nehru place is the largest IT market in India, a hub for both informal retailers and multinational technology companies. With 1,30,000 visitors each day, it has degenerated into an unwelcoming public space, faced with congestion, poor sanitation, infrastructure and management.
ICLEI, South Asia, along with its partners, conducted a year-long research on the restructuring of Nehru Place, in order to turn it into an operative public space. The client needed persuasive communication material for negotiations with interested parties.
Damage Control utilised research in various formats – graphs, statistics, photographs, text, and architectural drawings of present and proposed designs – to develop a booklet with key findings. We also created a short film to be used as a conversation opener for negotiations.
